The leading event in industrial innovation ends its first edition in Barcelona, with 166 exhibiting companies, 2,945 unique visitors and an economic impact of 5.4 million euros.
Sustainability, Artificial Intelligence and innovation were the main themes of the Tech Congress, with the participation of more than 60 experts.
Following its success, Advanced Manufacturing will return to Barcelona in 2025 and 60% of the exhibition space has already been booked.

Barcelona, 15 September 2023. Advanced Manufacturing Barcelona, the leading event in industrial innovation organised by Easyfairs, which includes the MetalBarcelona and Robomática Barcelona shows, closed its first edition in Barcelona yesterday with the attendance of 2,945 unique visitors and 166 exhibitors, generating more than 5,000 commercial interactions and 5.4 million in economic impact.

Oscar Barranco, CEO of Easyfairs Iberia, thanked the welcome received from institutions, associations and collaborators. “Launching an event in a new location is always a risky venture and we are very satisfied with the results obtained and especially with the feedback received from our exhibitors and visitors. We are the benchmark event for the industry of the future and our presence in both Madrid and Catalonia will allow us to serve the community in a more complete and closer way”.

The organisers have announced that the next edition in Catalonia will take place on 30 September and 1 October 2025, with an initial growth forecast of 30%, and have also confirmed that 60% of the exhibition space has already been booked for the two days of the show.

Germán Artuso, head of the welding division, Yaskawa comments: “The assessment is very good because we need a show in Barcelona of these characteristics and it is important for manufacturers in the area to have a local show”.

“We have a very positive assessment of the show and we believe it will have a great impact. During these two days we have received a lot of repercussion, especially with international visitors. We will be back at the next edition for sure”, adds Luís Añón, marketing director of Mecanus.

Tech Congress: Sustainability, Artificial Intelligence and Innovation

In addition to the exhibition area with the participation of 166 brands, more than 60 speakers from the main industry leaders took part in the Tech Congress 4.0 programme, which filled Fira’s Hall 1 with content over the two days of the event.

Sustainability was, unsurprisingly, one of the main themes of the Tech Congress programme. An example of this was the speeches by Guillem Bargalló, Head of Sustainability at IKEA Catalunya, and Violeta Costa, Sustainability Delivery Manager at GBFoods, who emphasised the importance of sustainability legislation, as well as the fundamental role of companies and institutions in achieving a greener world.

Artificial Intelligence was another of the most important points around which the conferences and round tables revolved. Among them, the talk ‘Are we all fired… or not?’ by José Luis Casal, an expert in digital business models, in which he addressed the role of AI in the industry. During the talk, he assured that this technology will be key to eliminating the most routine tasks, but at the same time, it will allow the creation of new jobs in which the human being will be a fundamental factor.
